Perfume and fragrance bouquet - clematis, lilac and wallflowers
Perfume and fragrance bouquet -

clematis, lilac and wallflowers
in the spring

You've finished preparing your garden but it looks so very empty, doesn't it?

Let's carry on with the project and turn your heart's desire into reality - we're going to add features to your own cottage garden.

As usual, there's a lot of work involved, but if you follow the do-it-yourself guide below, you'll hopefully save money and invest your tine and labour as efficiently as possible.

From Large to Small

Just as we did in the previous sections, we start with the big projects and finish with the little jobs.

All projects on the do-it-yourself garden features list below are fully illustrated - yes, the list is a bit short at the moment but give us time, please.

The work plan provided for each item in our DIY garden features guide covers the tools and materials required for the job at hand, as well as the preparation, excavation and construction you need to undertake for carrying out the garden project concerned.

We do not estimate material costs as prices differ from country to country - you'll have to find the best bargain(s) in your own home area.

DIY Garden Features List

Build your own pond: Don't know about you, but we couldn't be without a pond in the garden, never mind whether it's cottage garden style or not.

It's (usually) the biggest garden project you'll ever undertake in terms of the sheer physical labour involved, the time it takes and the expenses required.

  1. How to build a cottage garden pond - preparation: Part 1 deals with the tools, materials and preparation required for the job at hand.

So What's Next?

We'll add more DIY garden features to the list shortly - thanks for your patience. As it's very wet in our garden at the moment, we have more writing time available to complete the garden feature directory.
